Arboretum Tree Planting a HUGE Success!!

A big THANK YOU to the volunteers who braved 27 degree weather to help plant 25 NEW TREES and install 25 granite markers for our new Cabbagetown Neighborhood Arboretum!! Brochures and maps will be printed in 2007 to highlight the walking route for the first "Walking Tour" of the Neighborhood Arboretum.

A big THANK YOU to those of you who volunteered for the "kick-off" Tree Planting and Tree Marker installation, held this past Saturday (in 27 degree weather) for our new Cabbagetown Neighborhood Arboretum!! Trees Atlanta, who organized the event with our Neighborhood Arboretum Committee, was very pleased with neihborhood participation and results, (over 25 New Trees were planted in neighborhood homeowners' streetscapes, and over 25 beautiful granite Tree Markers were installed)! You may have noticed the beautiful granite Tree Markers througout the neighborhood which identify existing trees. They are engraved with scientific names and additional information regarding the trees' historical use. Who can find the most rare tree in Cabbagetown? More to come in 2007, when additional Tree Plantings and Markers for the newly planted trees will follow! Also, brochures and maps will be printed to highlight the walking route for the first "Walking Tour" of the Neighborhood Arboretum. Again, all of the volunteer help was greatly appreciated! (which includes Zeke, who was the most dedicated furry neighbor, and best- dressed, Lynne Splinter!) Thanks!
